Privacy.
Door progress, saved stories, random-story count and discovered easter eggs are stored in localStorage in your browser. They are not transmitted to the server by the interactive horror experience.
If you voluntarily submit a story or request door-opening alerts, the submission API stores the information you enter. The included self-hosted API hashes network addresses for basic abuse prevention and does not store the raw address in the application database.
The interactive fiction does not request microphone, camera, precise location, contacts or notification permissions. Any text implying otherwise is part of the fiction.
